Okay, I have to share a conversation I overheard at launch yesterday. "When the cops come they will kill the bad guys." "No, when the cops come they arrest the bad guys." "What does arrest mean?" "That's when they take bad guys to jail." "Oh, I wonder how long they have to stay in jail for time out." "I bet it's a really long time out!"
I love my job!
We have a new computer in our classroom and I spent a large part of yesterday loading it with photos taken this year. I still have more to load but once done I will place them on our blog site as well as facebook. I'd hate for anyone to miss this wonderful group of children.
It was hard to say goodbye to Rudyard but Melissa planned such a fun-filled time that we all forgot to be sad and spent our time enjoying each other. A pinata capped off the fun. Each child took 3 whacks at it but it was very well made. Fortunately a group of Middle Schoolers happened by and came to our rescue. Cais finally broke it opened and the older kids stepped back to allow our class to gather treats. As a thank you, we handed them treats too. It was a wonderful lesson on the thrill of unexpected kindness and that we should always have a back-up plan.
Here is a really important piece of information: nothing should come to school with your child tomorrow!
Their fruit break will be provided here so leave those bookbags and lunch boxes at home. We will meet you at Hollins for lunch (noon) or to view the art show with your child (11:15ish). If your family is not going to be here please notify me immediately. If you cannot make the meal at all, again, please let me know. Your child will eat with me but you should plan to pick him/her up at Hollins by 1:00. Pat will let you collect your child's art at 1:00 so you can decorate with it at home.
