As I sit at the computer listening to the gentle snores of my class, I'm wondering why we teachers dread the day after Halloween. Could it be that you as parents wore your children out last night or is today such a let down after yesterday that sleep is their defense? Either way I am grateful.
Our class was adorable yesterday in their costumes. I wish you could have seen their excitement as they changed and watched for their friends to transform too. The pictures turned out great and are on Facebook now. We will get new computers soon and I promise to add the Facebook pictures to our blog. They are just too dear for anyone to miss!
We have just one more day to celebrate the color green so please try to send in a green item for your child tomorrow. I am impressed that Rylan has worn 3 green shirts this week and hasn't once mentioned it to me. His classmates are quick to notice and remember then what they may have in their backpacks that is green.
Next Tuesday is election day for the bulk of the country. We already had our mock election with Obama and Kaine winning their elections and Twin Day winning as our spirit day theme. The Twin theme may be the most important info here. I have already touched base with a fellow teacher to dress as a twin. I can't wait to trick a few children! We don't yet have the date but you have a little planning time.
Next Tuesday is also our first Conference Day. There isn't regular school day but you do need to bring your child to their conference. Our schedule is in Quick Notes and most conferences are back-to-back in the morning. For this reason I encourage everyone to be on time and I'll try to keep my cheerleader session to a minimum. With this group, it's going to be a real challenge!
