This year's Fall Festival was absolutely the most fun I have had thus far! The children were still talking about both field trips Monday morning so I think it's safe to say they also enjoyed themselves. The parent (and brother) participation was really great too. Thanks again to our wonderful parent drivers.
We teachers are combining our pictures so each of the participating classes will have all of them. If you took pictures please share them with us and we'll post them to our facebook pages. You can e-mail them, send a flash drive (it will be returned) or send a CD and we'll do the rest.
This week began with a new Fall unit, a color of the week and tomorrow will begin our letter study. We are looking at color of the leaves as they turn and will try to make a few of our own. Don't be surprised if your child begins looking up at trees and down at the ground for another "treasure". Our Nature Center already has a beautiful array.
Our color for this week is yellow. Elena is also teaching the color of the week in Spanish so you may hear it mentioned in two languages. Today we spied as many objects as we could find in the room that were yellow. I am asking parents to help their child find a yellow object from home - or write down a large, impossible to bring to school object- and bring it in to show their classmates. Let's see how much variety we can get!
Tomorrow is Pizza Day and our first bake sale of the year. Pizza slices are $1 each and parents/grandparents are welcome to join us. Send in money and choice of slice(s) with your child and we'll add you to our class order. Bake sale items are $.50 each and the class preparing the items will use the proceeds for a charity or a project.
