Our week began with a little international travel. The Bolivian and Seminar students prepared reports on 13 different Latin, Central and South American Spanish speaking countries. They also cooked foods from these countries so after a little fact sharing there was eating to be done. In fact, we ate our way through the entire morning. Wouldn't it be great if every Monday was as tastefully fun?

In our little bit of time together, on Tuesday we discussed the upcoming holiday Hanukkah. I put up a paper menorah explained the eight days of celebration (or Festival of Lights), the lighting of the candles at sundown and 8 days of presents.
Today I pulled out a real menorah and lit the first candle (we won't be here tonight to do it) and let it burn while I read a book on the history of Hanukkah.

After music today, we began a Star of David project. Each child was given 6 Popsicle sticks. They used the first 3 to make a triangle. They then placed the other 3 on top in the shape of an upside triangle. they had to figure out strategic points for glue to keep everything together. We will add blue and gold glitter in the next day or two.

By now you have probably joined me in the shock of realizing today is the first day of December.
