Our room is beginning to look a bit spooky. We have started painting our giant black spiders and we hung spider webs on our window. We also have blinking bat lights on the bulletin board and a smiling Jack-O-Lantern on our records (also known as really big CDs). Today we learned the song "Witch's Brew" by Raffi and threw our icky brew ingredients into my cauldron. Just wait until tomorrow!

I did not introduce a new letter this week but am reviewing F and P. Yesterday I gave the children a page of pictures which they quickly realized all began with F or P. They had to cut out the pictures and glue them under their initial letter F or P. I was quite pleased to see most of the children got all 10 pictures in the correct area.

Look in your child's book bag today for a wonderful surprise. Karen made copies of our picture CD from Fall Festival for each student. Grab a big mug of coffee before settling down to view them because there are over 300 pictures.

I do have a change tomorrow morning for my class. When the morning bell rings they will go to Katlyn's room instead of ours. I have an early morning doctor's appointment so they will join Katlyn's class for another spooky craft project. Chelsea (our Hollin's helper) will be in the room to help so they will be with familiar people.

Friday is the Halloween Parade and celebration. Please remember to send a costume for your child to wear in the parade. Kim and Betsy's classes have planned several events for the children and they will collect some "treasures" to bring home.

Do you know what's more fun than spring cleaning? Waiting until fall to do it! Our board is hosting a C.S. family yard sale November 6. Think of it as an opportunity to declutter for the upcoming holidays and guests. You get more space in your house, the school earns money which will be spent on the children, The local economy gets a boost and everybody wins. What an easy way to help make the world a better place. You can even unload your treasures this Saturday (9-1) at the corner of Lamar and Williamson Road, next to the log cabin. People will be there to unload your car (or semi).
