Remember when we studied the primary colors and the colors that resulted from mixing them? Today's Play Dough became a review lesson as I finally allowed children to mix colors and see what they became. It is hard for an anal person like me to let go and allow colored dough to be mixed (which is one reason they don't call me an artist) but I held my breath and hoped for the best. Yes, we did have some gray but we also had chartreuse, orange and multi-striped orbs of color. The children were thrilled, I was relieved and much was learned by all.

Monday afternoon the school will honor Lelia and Cherry so the children made cards today. We discussed the merits of class cards and individual cards until they decided class cards might help Cherry and Lelia remember them. They chose their message and I got to the task of constructing two cards with hugging arms on the front. Each child wrote their name and several drew mini pictures around their names.

We again practiced for Celebration evening and I must say these children really can sing out when needed. I just hope they aren't spooked by the audience size and clam up on me. They are awfully cute with their toy trumpets and hand motions.

Our Carnival is tomorrow but I still haven't told the children what their surprise is. They only know whatever it is, it begins after fruit break play. We will have activity stations set up and end it with a special lunch. Soo..... don't pack your child a lunch tomorrow. They will need a fruit break. Children who leave at noon are welcome to stay and eat or can take their lunch with them. The lunches are packed in striped boxes resembling the old animal cracker boxes.

I will take pictures as much as possible, as will Katlyn. We'll post them as soon as possible.

We will have our Reading Buddy day tomorrow because Lena's class went to El Rodeo today. Between the Carnival and buddies, the children will probably be exhausted tomorrow. Here's your warning. Fortunately the weekend follows.
