We're almost getting used to playing in the snow. As I watched the children pull on their boots, hats, gloves and jackets it occurred to me just how different this winter has been from the last few. I would be sick of the snow at this point except that when I watch the children play, I see their massive snowmen with mulch faces and the delight on their faces.

The current weather report sounds rather menacing and Holly has already closed our campus tomorrow. This does mean rescheduling the planned conferences so please read the note attached to your child's notebook if we had a conference scheduled.

Today we worked on using only two primary watercolors to create a new color on coffee filters. Yesterday we read a book about a white rabbit who hopped into paint pots. As she changed colors she would shower off and start again. Eventually she ran out of water and after testing all three primary colors, she ends up a lovely shade of brown. When we were testing color mixtures as a class, we also found mixing the three primary colors gave us brown. They were excited the rabbit made the same discovery. This will end our color experiments but when I hang the coffee filters, their beautiful shades will be an artist's dream!

Have a wonderful sled-riding weekend and hopefully we'll see everyone back on Monday.
