What a marvelous time we had at the Spanish Festival! The Middle School and Bolivian students worked together to provide information on 11 South American countries. We spent about 12 minutes in each spot learning basic data and playing a game. I feared our class would be wilted by halfway through but they lasted 10 countries before they need to run and eat. Many thanks to Kim and Laura who helped me escort the children. Five more parents joined us for lunch so we were the picnic hot spot! The children loved it and were still talking about it after rest time. As you might imagine we had the quietest rest time in our short history!

December Leader calendars will go home tomorrow. If I can figure the system out, I'll also post it on the blog site. We have two plays, the Barnes & Noble fund raiser and our Holiday Workshop all in the next three weeks. Instead of the standard party with lots of snacks and tears, we are going to use a workshop setting on the 18th to celebrate the holidays. The children will move through the Early Learner classrooms (like at Fall Festival) where they will make crafts, cards and their lunch. Several parents have volunteered already but if you are interested in helping please let us know. As much as we enjoy them, we do ask that no younger siblings attend this time because of the crafts we will be doing. They do require more attention and there will be a toaster oven in use.

Please look at your Quick Notes today for more information on the Barnes & Noble fund raiser. Again, our children perform at 11:00 sharp. You'll want to bring your cameras because they are just too cute to miss.

Elena reminded me today that the Plantation El Rodeo has a special deal for Community School on Tuesdays. Just mention our school when you dine there on any Tuesday and they will give us a percentage of the proceeds.
