Today was what I call a "GID" day or "Get It Done!" day. Since I've been saying it since my college days I'm pretty sure Nike changed it a bit to avoid paying me royalties, hence I'm still working!
Somehow we managed to finish painting hands, making angel faces, glittering wings and choosing tinsel colors. Music was thrown in there somewhere. My daughter Emily came in to cut, cut and cut so the magic could happen.
Lunch was a pizza picnic with our Crazy Christmas CD playing in the background. Middle School came in three times to sing to me. Thank you very much for the songs. The class and I loved hearing them and singing along!
Patti came in to collect our money for POP and here eyes were wide when she saw the amount of money brought in the last two days. She is very grateful and sends her thanks. A fourth angel was added through Betsy. This young soldier just returned from Iraq and like most reservist, the paycheck stops when he hit American soil. His unemployment benefits haven't kicked in yet. Patti told me that Middle School had finally given some money and our class had been very generous so now they can help this young soldier too. It's good to know that when folks need a helping hand, others are still willing to extend theirs. Your kind hearts are reflected in the kind children you have sent to my care, and it is an honor to be their teacher.
Tomorrow is the big trip to the Taubman to watch "Toad and Frog". I need the following people to leave their child's labeled car seats here in the morning: Logan, Rowan, Nora, Emma and Chloe.
We will be watching the 9:30 show so it will not interfere will noon pick-up for 1/2 day children.
The children have been comparing their elf hat construction going on at home. Several have arrived at school already but I thought I might need to remind others to help your child decorate an elf hat for Friday's fun. We'll wear the hats during the workshop. Adults are encouraged to throw caution to the wind and wear a hat too!
