Our class looked adorable today! They were so tickled with themselves and their friends pajamas. I took each child's picture along with their book. We were able to read three books but then we had to go to our early fruit break and Specials. I told them I would read their books if they brought them back after Thanksgiving.

Remember the rhyme our class created about five feathers? Well it has taken some time on my old, slow printer but "The Tale of Five Feathers" is copied and almost all are bound. Seven children will bring home books today and three remaining I will hand to parents tomorrow. They participated in selecting the pictures we used to illustrate their book so rest assured this isn't a teacher created book with a class' name on it. It is truly their book! I will keep one laminated, bound copy for our classroom.

Tomorrow is our wonderful Thanksgiving Luncheon. Your child doesn't need to bring anything with them. They already made their Friendship Mix for snack. It certainly makes our walk over to Hollins easier when their hands are empty. Their sheets and some Thanksgiving crafts will come home today.

We will be at Hollins around 11:25 if you wish to meet us there to view the Art Show. It is always spectacular and I know you will be pleased with your own child's work. At noon the feast will begin. Please have your child sit with you but feel free to sit with other families. This is the best way I know to develop that sense of "community" we strive for at our school.

If you plan on doing some Black Friday shopping I urge to hold off on buying books. On Dec. 5 and 6 our school will have performances at Barnes & Noble. Our Early Learners perform 11:00 Saturday (the 5th). This week's Quick Notes have vouchers to be used when making a purchase at any Barnes & Noble (There is a code for online purchases) and they are good for the entire week. This is a big fund raiser for our school and many people use it to make Christmas and/or Hanukkah purchases. The store even has a Wish List for each teacher if you wish to buy a book for your child's class. Tell all your friends and relatives. Surely they want to join the fun too.

I know I will see everyone tomorrow but we may be rushed so I will tell you now...Happy Thanksgiving!
