It was one of those days. You know the ones where you wake up with the headache that becomes a migraine but life still has to go on. Well my little friends here were nice enough to keep the noise level down for my sake and I truly appreciated it!

We had our special art this morning which was a project Xan suggested. We have painted in wax resist before but we used only white crayons. Today we used light yellow, light green and pink. This means we can actually SEE what we're drawing and what a difference it made in their pictures. We had more people and flowers and the colors really pop when the thinned black paint is applied.

After fruit break we made the long anticipated (at least a week) apple dipping project. The children washed their hands, the bowls and the apples. Next they chopped chocolate chips and peanuts with my food chopper. The food chopper is so much fun they all wanted a turn. Next I cut apples and we were ready to dip into the warm caramel in my crock pot. Each child dipped two apple slices and then choose which topping to dip into next. Surprisingly, chocolate chips was the favorite. We did have a discussion that this was a semi-healthy snack and not one that would be good to eat every day. There were very few leftovers on their plates so this might explain if there is more of your child's lunch in their boxes than usual.

After lunch I finally got an opportunity to get a few yoga pictures. I asked Titus and Xan to lead the others while I took pictures. I'll take more throughout the year but I want parents to see their children are able to do already.

Tomorrow morning is Music and Spanish beginning at 8:45. I've noticed Friday is the day our class is the most likely to be late so I asked the children to jump out of bed in the morning when you call them the first time. They have agreed - for now. Good luck!
