It began as another rainy day with slim hope for outside play and running off that extra energy. Then at 11:45 Tulie walked by my door and uttered the three most beautiful words in our language, "It stopped raining." We raced for boots and coats and flew out the door. Have you ever seen children on a swing set when they discover their boots will kick up water from the puddle beneath them? I tell you is a scene of pure joy with accompanying squeals of delight. The teacher in me was thinking of mud spots on jeans but the child in me was laughing with them. Guess which side won out?

We did do others things today too. We read Grace's Show & Share book "Ladybug Girl and Bumblebee Boy" It's so cute I added it to my wish list at Barnes & Noble (along with a few others). Titus brought in a miniature of the ship Godspeed that looks a lot like our new pirate ship. You history buffs know that the Jamestown settlers weren't pirates but their ship did bear a strong resemblance. Hmm...

After fruit break we began learning the "Bert the Turkey" dance and I showed them the progress made on their book. Then Jennifer and the Seminar students appeared at the door to play a variety of Bingo games with the children. I took children one at a time to begin their art project for the Thanksgiving Art Show. Visitors began showing up about then and Jennifer gave the best explanation I've ever heard for having buddies in different age groups. She totally sold me on the school!

Our afternoon brought play time with Marianna, our Bolivian student friend, and then some restless rest. Although the room was dark and the music was appropriate, our little squiggle worms had too much energy to sleep. All I can say is ,"Good luck tonight!".
