Hurricane Ida didn't dampen the spirits of these children one bit! They happily played indoors today with a new pirate ship Kim Halsey sent to the room. Their little people are just the right size to command the ship and hide below in the cargo area.
We used our large plastic rings today to practice our directional words. I played music and we hopped or tip-toed inside, out side, beside or around the circles. Later we got fancy and made them twirl around our arms and legs. We even made two rows and played an exchange game.
Today was our Buddy Day. Kim's class came down and together they made paper bag turkeys. They noticed we were missing two students so their buddies made a turkey for each of them. It's so nice to see Upper Elementary children worry about the younger children.
In yoga today, I taught the children a movement for the the letter T. The Tarzan Thalamus Thump was a huge hit so watch out for some thumping and yelling at home. Try to think or it as exercise.
