Now that it is sunny and beautiful outside, it's hard to imagine the foggy, wet dreariness of this morning. Our class didn't seem disappointed that our skits were delayed. They were more interested in whether they could play inside with Play-Doh. We will try again Monday morning at 9:30.
This morning our class had music with Kim and Spanish with Elena. The Seminar students are doing Spanish on Fridays with the Early Learners. It is amazing how quickly our little ones attach themselves to the big ones.
We have been reading books about night and dreams so today we painted a "magic" night picture. We used white crayons on white tag board and then covered it with a watered down coat of black paint. The wax in the crayon resists the paint and Voila! we have a picture appearing from nowhere.
Today was the big day for Rhyming Bear to make his debut. We pulled names from a bowl to decide the order of his home visits. Titus was thrilled to be first. I read Rhyming Bear's introductory tag to the class but you will probably want to read it too when he comes home with your child. If your child is ill or out of town when their week comes up, I'll switch weeks with another child. Please journal with your child on Sunday so we can read all about their adventures on Monday.
Monday is also the day Scholastic book orders are due. You can order online or send in their marked flyers to me with a check (you can combine orders to write one check) written to Scholastic Books.
Have a great weekend with your child.
