I apologize for not blogging yesterday but I needed to substitute teach for a children's drama class with the Roanoke Children's Theater and I had to pull some items from my room while the children rested yesterday.

We have been a very busy class the last two days. The children have written their names with glue and then covered then with green rice. They completed their "Wynken, Blynken and Nod" pages. They collected interesting leaves and today used eyedroppers of watercolor paint and tissue paper cutouts to recreate Fall leaves. They cut out a clown puzzle and reassembled it. They have learned three new yoga poses. They have gone to Music and Spanish. And most importantly they have played dress up, blocks, puzzles, Tinker Toys, and doll house!

As I read this list I can see why we are all very tired this afternoon! It's a good thing the weekend is coming. Rhyming Bear is certainly excited the weekend is here because he gets to go home with Sofia today. Last week Xan's family took pictures of their adventures and I have hung a picture holder on our window for everyone to enjoy the fun. Please do take pictures when Rhyming Bear comes to your home if you are so inclined. We love seeing them.

Next week I will introduce our first letter. I do not go in alphabetical order but rather go by straight lines and easily reproduced letters. We will have a discovery box on Monday and an activity. Throughout the week they will have activities and use cardboard shapes to make the letters. I will also teach the ASL sign for each letter they learn. That's all I'll tell you now. You'll have to wait until Monday to see which letter they learn.

Monday is picture day for us. Pictures at our level are usually taken in the morning and outside. Wednesday is our rain date. In a few weeks you will receive a proof page to select the photos you wish to buy. A day will be scheduled for retakes and children who were absent on picture day. Quick Notes always has this information but I will also try to remind you in the blog.
