Can you believe it's already the last day of September? I asked the children if they knew what month tomorrow would be. I was told it would be Monday. And I always thought January was the Monday of the months!

We did Chloe and Logan's "Show and Share" today. I must say I really appreciate the thought that has gone into these. So far we've a doctor's kit, photos from Disney World (everyone decided they want to go) and two Rubic's Cubes. The class has been fascinated with these choices.

Kim had the Early Learner's come to music at 9:30 and then they went outside to play. This gave me plenty of time to set up the scavenger hunt they requested Monday. I split the class into two groups and gave each group five objects beginning with L to find in the room. Everything was hidden in plain sight, which of course, made them harder to find. One of the hidden objects was the Eric Carle book 'The Grouchy Ladybug". We read it and talked about what it meant to be grouchy. I have to admit I did do a pretty good grouchy demonstration.

Next I pulled out a piggyback song (words written to a familiar tune) about leaves and swirled my silk leaves to the ground. Over the years I have amassed many leaves so I had enough to give each child several handfuls. First we slowly swirled the leaves and next we threw them in the air. We pretended to rake up the leaves into a pile and again threw them up in the air. Pictures will be posted when Katlyn has time to show me the "correct" way to add pictures to the blog.

Today was Lunch-a-Month with our beloved Seminar student Sarah. The children adore her and will stop playing to watch her walk by. Every school needs a goddess.

Fall Festival information will come home today in your child's folder. Please read it for the many details of our two days of fun. We have heard from one parent so far who can help drive children to Jeter Farm. I have been asked if families can accompany us and the answer is, "Yes, we'd love to have you come along." We will pay your child's fee from the Fall Festival fee. We cannot pay parent fees unless they driving children for us but if you are willing to pay it is a fun outing.

Yoga is becoming quite the workout in here. As the children learn more poses they want to do them all at each session. We have discussed that yoga is a quiet, slow form of exercise which now lasts about 2/3 of the session. Sooner or later the giggles and animal sounds take over. I wish I could record a session for you so you could enjoy them at their finest moments.
