Our class sand table became a water play station today so your children will have been wet at some point during the day. Although water on the head is banned, it looks like someone took a dive! Our lunch picnics are on a temporary hold, by request, from the children. It seems eating in cooler temperatures is preferable to eating in the heat.
Since our Art Festival performance is on Thursday, we will stay on campus Friday. Only the Early Learners and Lower Elementary will be here so we have decided to add a day of water play. I will have a globe sprinkler outside along with other wet fun. Please send your child in either a bathing suit or clothes that can get wet. A towel is also needed and if you want sunscreen on your child you can apply it at home or send it to school. If you send it to school it must have your child's name on the container and you must give us written permission in their notebook.
The temperature is not likely to drop much for the remainder of the year so now is the time to send in warm weather changes of clothes. Several of my students have used their changes and no longer have anything. Footwear is always a question this time of year. The children usually run rather than walk outside so their shoes need to be able to stay on their feet even while in flight! If they choose sandals or flipflops please be sure there is an ankle strap to keep them in place.
Tomorrow is our rehearsal at the Mill Mountain Theater. We leave at 9:00 sharp. Fruit break will go with us to be consumed there. Because of costume changing and bus loading we can't be sure we will return by noon so we are asking half day parents to wait until 1:00 to pick up children. Feel free to send a lunch with them in case we have time to eat before 1:00.
