Ah, our love of colors continues. Today we tried several experiments blending colors and watching separation of colors. Our first experiment used water, milk and detergent. The milk was supposed to prevent any mixing of the detergent with the water and create a rainbow effect much like oil and water would. What really happened was the milk and water didn't mix once the detergent was added. Hmm... it made me feel like Edison with his 1000 failures for every success!
Our second experiment was more successful. We used a large vase of water and added one drop each of food coloring in the primary colors. As the food coloring dropped through the water, the colors began to mix and we could see all the colors on a color wheel. We left the vase all day and watched the colors settle to a pale teal. As light hits the vase, the color seems to change and reflect the color of objects nearby.
I found out today I could use our class Activity account to pay for El Rodeo. This is usually a field trip but is so much easier as a delivered meal for the Early Learners so we will pay for it as though we were leaving the campus. If parents and/or siblings want to join us, I need your information and money tomorrow.
Quick Notes has a list of parents who have not yet volunteered for Strawberry Festival. I noticed some names of parents in this class that I am sure have already signed up so please double check the list for accuracy. Everybody is obligated to help so please sign up immediately if you have not done so already.
