Well this has been a splendorific day (As Tigger would say)! We have been nonstop celebration since the bell rang this morning.

Not only is this Valentine's Day but it is also Emma's birthday. She led the calendar and then presented her Show & Share. Emma had a musical , princess birthday card from her Aunt Bailey. Now I knew the girls would like this but when it caught the interest of everyone it made me remember that children this age are often more interested in the unique than the price tag. Its a good reminder that whatever your child finds interesting and wants to share will probably also interest their friends! But I digress.

Following circle time Jennifer had small plain cupcakes for the children to decorate and eat. Each child had two and about half the class chose to take one home for "Mommy". Hopefully you will actually get to eat them. Thank you Jennifer for sharing Emma's day with the class.

After fruit break each child strung shiny plastic beads for their mothers. These are beads I purchased for last week's fun but the holes were too small for the string. Fortunately I found stringing elastic of the correct size in my stash. Please don't be insulted if your bracelet lacks a few beads. They are the product of a challenging activity.

Katlyn's class arrived for our Valentine fun and Holly read her favorite Valentine story to both classes. My class had earlier put their valentines in Gracie's mail box (brought in just for the occasion) and the postal carrier (me) delivered them to their respective bags. They then were free to help Katlyn's class put valentines in the correct bags. In theory, this went just as I planned. In reality it was... real. Brienne was in the room to help keep the situation from becoming too real so many thanks to her!

Kris had a huge box of chocolates for everyone to share. They lined up for the treat before going out to recess. Gracie's grandmother had just arrived to pick her up. Gracie quietly suggested to me that her grandmother would probably like a piece so I had her take the box to her. It brings a smile to my heart when children remember others.

Although not quite as exciting as today, tomorrow will be a great day with enrichment classes. It is also the due date for Scholastic book orders.

Have a wonderful Valentine's Day with your family!
