Yikes, Halloween is almost here and I didn't even have my books out yet! Thank goodness Autumn asked to borrow a specific book. I quickly pulled them out and we immediately read "Ten Timid Ghosts".
I was having a senior moment when I tried to teach the children "Five Little Pumpkins Sitting on a Gate". Titus saved the day by reminding me it was on his Raffi CD which I also have. After listening just once we both remembered how it went and taught to the others. I have pumpkin stick puppets so they could act out the song as they chanted it.
We had our art exchange day this morning. Tulie and I set up different stations in each room and let the children go to each spot. I painted their hands black and made spiders. We'll make webs for those spiders later.
The children made another journal page today. Since we'll be going to Jeter Farm next week and see pumpkins, I used the story starter "My pumpkin grew so bit it...". Our class is VERY creative. I'm expecting at least one author from this group.
