What a wonderful day for a field trip! The weather was perfect for a hayride, pumpkin picking, petting and feeding farm animals, and winding our way through a corn maze. And did I mention not one but two picnics!?! The children were a bit tired by the time we reached our campus and the teachers were exhausted. It's a good thing we have rest time at this level.

I can't begin to thank all the parents who drove and met us for their help. All the children had several sets of eyes on them and a hand to hold any time they desired. At one point on the hay ride I looked over at one dad who had three little girls hanging on to him and none of them were his. His own daughter was sitting happily at his feet. I would have been surprised at any other school but here at Community School we all take care of each other.

Not that Jeter Farm isn't exciting by itself but we will end this week with a Halloween celebration. At around 10:00 the children will have a costume parade and then go to their rooms for more fun. Since our children will be coming from Spanish at 9:45 I ask that your child's costume be easy enough for them to put on themselves and that they wear tennis shoes instead of costume shoes. They will be in motion so please consider this when deciding on whether they will wear a mask. We cannot do hair or put on makeup in this short a time but hats are not a problem. There will be all school information in tomorrow's Quick Notes.

We are not planning to ask parents to help us with our room parties because we feel you have already been so helpful with Fall Festival and today and Conferences are next week. We are grateful for your gift of time but your bosses may not feel the same. Our party activities will within our three rooms and easily handled by staff. We will take pictures and post them later.
