Today was rather quiet for a Monday. Or perhaps the clouds dampened the usual excited noise of children seeing each other again.

After morning circle we read the adventures of Rowan and Rhyming Bear this weekend. Next we reviewed the letter F with the objects in the letter box. We couldn't help but sing "Blink, Um Went the Little Green Frog" when I pulled out the green frog paper bag puppet. Of course when I pulled out my velcro glove we then had to sing "The Farmer in the Dell".

After fruit break play we made paper frogs sitting on beautiful lily pads. Some of the cutting was difficult so their frogs and large flower were already cut for them. They had cut their leaves and lily pads Friday. I am thrilled with the hard work the children put into their cutting. Even the children who are new to cutting thought about how they could best cut into crevices and around arcs. Several decided some of those arcs weren't needed and cut large circles instead. How's that for problem solving? The frogs are now resting in their pond that doubles as a lid for our sensory box.

We are preparing for our Fall Festival fun later this week. I have been reminded that the office needs a copy of current insurance cards from anyone driving children other than their own. Please send those in your child's folder. If you don't have access to a copier you can bring in your card and use a school copier.

The weather forecast for Wednesday is currently chilly and cloudy with rain in the afternoon. I have e-mailed Jeter Farm about their rain policy in case the forecast changes. I should be able to tell you tomorrow.
