Today got exciting very quickly. First Grace did her "Show and Share" of pictures of her family and two dear friends. I used to work with the mother and aunt of these two young ladies so I was thrilled. Next Rowan had me read his "Show and Share" from yesterday which was a book about Oscar the Grouch. Children don't know the Sesame Street characters like they used to so they were mystified about why Oscar was always grouchy.

I have an old Sesame Street record that had Oscar's "I Love Trash" which we had to play and dance to and then listen to my favorite, "I've Got Two Ears". It's hard to top that song! It also turns out Elena is working on body parts that come in twos.

We next worked on our lion sacks. Many of the children in our class are learning or need practice in cutting and our lion offered this opportunity. They are very proud of their work and you'll see them at the first conference.

Their special music day with Kim was today and afterwords I requested a concert. They stood tall and proud as they sang "The Jellybean Song". It is hysterical. See if your child will sing it for you.

Kim Halsey's class came for the first time today as our new buddies. I thought we might need something a little silly to relax everyone so we painted forearms brown to make Fall trees. The little ones painted the big ones and the big ones painted the little ones. In two weeks we'll add Fall leaves and have "Buddy Trees". There was a lot of good natured teasing and tickling and then they all went out together for recess.

It was Lunch-a-Month which mean the Divine Sarah comes in to eat with them. She certainly earns her status with the children by taking great interest in their ideas, activities and just conversing with them. She even took Rowan outside to buy a goodie from the bake sale!

We did an extra long yoga today. The children each wanted to do their favorite poses and a few I had forgotten I'd taught them. The lightening pose was the pose I taught them to go with the letter L and we saved it for last. Boy, did they take great naps today.

Tomorrow I'll introduce a new letter to the class. Tune in then to see which member of the Elite 26 is chosen.
